(In Somnis Veritas)
It's taken me this long to know what my dreams were: To not dismiss them as the spinnings of rabid fever, To throw wide the curtains and shuck off the pall, To dare, and greatly- though I rise by it, or fall. In somnis veritas! So follow your dreams- Such a long road, such a journey, so many shattered schemes; But here, on my knees, as I crawl towards them at last, For the first time it is I myself whom I have cast. Have mercy upon me, for not seeing clearer; Have mercy upon me, for not holding dearer My dreams than expectations (imagined or not), For being deluded- by mirages caught. It's taken me this long, and maybe without Those years distracted, I'd still wallow in doubt. In somnis veritas, and this truth I'll pursue, Reckon with it, fight for it, and give it its due.
In somnis veritas: in dreams, truth.
